With over 160 UK higher education institutions to choose from, Derby University needed a way to express their ‘real-world learning’ ethos - with strong industry links, expert academics and state of the art facilities - to stay top of mind.

The diversity of educational environments on offer provided inspiration for the successful route, embodying Derby Uni’s hands-on approach to academic success - without a stuffy, old fashioned lecture theatre in sight.

TTL, including microsite, film, and social

The University in-house social team expanded the campaign with rolling awareness and engagement messaging ahead of open days, and beyond.

All channels linked to a microsite which encouraged open day enrolment. The site featured inspirational video testimonials from current students and alumni, as well as key Uni benefits and creditations.

The promotional video was fronted by students and provided a comprehensive tour of Derby Uni’s ‘classrooms’, from a 1000 seater C18th restaurant to a functioning hospital ward. The film ran on targeted TV and social media, receiving over 90k views on YouTube.

A circular installation provided the centrepiece for experiential events around the city, with student ambassadors for the featured courses bringing ‘real world learning’ to life.
